Video: The Latest in Robotic Hair Transplants
Dr. Bernstein was interviewed for The Bald Truth about the latest advances in the ARTAS® Robotic Hair Transplant system for Follicular Unit Extraction procedures (Robotic FUE). Dr. Bernstein noted both a recent increase in the demand for FUE procedures as well as an increase in demand for hair transplants in general.
Physicians at Bernstein Medical have introduced new applications for the robot including: custom punch sizes, simplification of the robot-physician interface, robotic recipient site creation, automated follicular unit graft selection, and a “long-hair Robotic FUE” technique that allows the patients to camouflage the donor area immediately post-op in small to medium-size FUE sessions.

Drs. Wolfeld, Shah Named “Rising Stars” by Super Doctors
Two physicians at Bernstein Medical have caught the attention of their peers in their respective fields in New York City and have been named “Rising Stars” by the Super Doctors® publication.
Dr. Michael B. Wolfeld was selected for his accomplishments in the field of plastic surgery and Dr. Sejal Shah for her achievements in the field of dermatology. Both doctors appear in the 2014 and 2015 New York Super Doctors editions.

Columbia University’s Dr. Christiano Discovers Potentially Game-Changing Topical Hair Growth Treatment
Dr. Angela Christiano and her team of researchers at Columbia University studying the autoimmune disease Alopecia areata have shed new light on how to move hair follicles from their resting (telogen) stage into the growth (anagen) phase where they can produce normal hairs.
Their study, published in the October issue of Science Advances, introduces the possibility of a new topical medication for hair growth. The findings have implications in the treatment of common hair loss as well as alopecia areata, which causes a non-scarring form of localized hair loss.
