Automated Graft Selection in Robotic FUE Hair Transplants
Bernstein Medical has added robotic follicular unit graft selection to the list of improvements and contributions to the robotic FUE procedure available at our facility. In robotic graft selection, the surgeon programs the ARTAS Robotic System to avoid one-hair follicular units. By focusing on extracting the larger two-, three-, and four-hair units, we can obtain the largest number of donor hairs while creating the least amount of wounds. This more efficient extraction method yields the greatest cosmetic benefit for the patient.
In automating graft selection in robotic hair transplants, the ARTAS System can intelligently harvest follicular units based on the patient’s hair characteristics and restoration needs.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Hair Loss Treatments Now Offered to Patients at Bernstein Medical
We are pleased to announce that Bernstein Medical is now offering PRP therapy for our hair loss patients!
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is concentrated blood plasma — with five times the platelets found in normal circulating blood — plus growth factors and other bioactive proteins that aid in wound healing and possibly hair growth. Recent studies have suggested that PRP may be an effective treatment option for male and female pattern hair loss. PRP is “autologous,” meaning that it is derived from the patient’s own blood.
We begin PRP therapy at three month intervals and modify the treatment schedule based on the patient’s individual response. We use the Emcyte Pure PRP system, which allows active biologic factors to be administered at the most effective concentration. Before beginning treatment, a hair loss consultation is required. The consult fee will be applied to your first treatment.
