Patient QCL lost his sideburn hair from alopecia areata, a genetic autoimmune disease that attacks hair follicles. The disease had been in remission for 10 years when the patient sought to restore his sideburns. The restoration was accomplished in one session using a total of 1,151 follicular unit grafts.
