Patient ETI came to Bernstein Medical looking to repair a previous hair transplant. He had an extensive number of large plugs on the top of the scalp and the crown, and a very regular, unnatural hairline. To correct the pluggy transplant, we started with a series of four graft excision sessions in which we removed the plugs and redistributed hair as individual follicular units. Following that, ETI had a camouflage procedure, using follicular unit transplantation, which consisted of 1,917 follicular unit grafts. In total, between the excised plugs and the FUT procedure, we transplanted 3,210 follicular unit grafts for ETI’s hair restoration. The final results photos were taken one year after his FUT camouflage procedure.
Because the prior plug surgery used up so much donor hair, there was not enough remaining hair to connect the forelock to the sides.
