Patient DGT had four hair transplants in the mid-1980s that left him a very regular, unnatural looking hairline and a significant amount of scarring in the recipient area and scant coverage. The first step in the restoration was to remove 17 of the largest grafts, mostly at the left hairline. The second step was the transplantation of 2,096 follicular unit grafts to soften the hairline and add more coverage to the front and top of the scalp.
