Hair Transplant

October 20th, 2016

Dr. Wolfeld addresses a topic many prospective patients ask about in the hair loss consultation. How long after a hair transplant will it be noticeable that they had a procedure?

Today, I am going to be answering questions that come up frequently in consultations in our office. One such question that comes up is: how long will it be noticeable that I have had a procedure performed? How long will there be redness and swelling in the recipient area following a procedure?

Our answer to patients is that in general, it takes about 10 to 12 days following a procedure where there will be redness and swelling present. After this time period the redness and swelling should dissipate, and it should not be noticeable that you have had a hair transplant. So you can go back to work or go back to normal activities without it being noticeable.
