The Bald TruthLaunched in March of 2000, TheBaldTruth.com is a consumer resource that includes information about general hair loss, treatment options including surgical hair restoration, products for hair loss, research, scams, user forums, and additional research links.

The site also includes broadcast information for CBS radio’s hugely successful “Bald Truth” radio program; Hosted by author Spencer Kobren, this weekly on air support group has been nationally syndicated for more than 6 years, bringing to light how emotionally devastating living with hair loss can be in today’s appearance-obsessed society.

The Bald Truth web site is one component in a variety of outlets designed to reach male and female hair loss sufferers and provide help to them. The mediums for outreach include the radio show, online Podcasts, books, and consumer advocate organizations. The force behind all of it is Spencer Kobren, a committed consumer advocate, who acts as a “snake-oil muckraker” for the general public.

The Washington Post proclaims that Spencer David Kobren “has a seemingly encyclopedic knowledge about androgenetic alopecia or baldness,” and that the Bald Truth is his “pulpit of the airwaves” touching millions of lives each and every week. Users on the web site can subscribe to The Bald Truth Weekly Pod cast series based on the radio show and hear about the latest discovers in hair transplantation.

Kobren is the Founder and President of the American Hair Loss Association, the non-profit membership organization dedicated to providing awareness about the emotional devastation of hair loss. He is also Director of Consumer/Patient affairs for The International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons and a contributing editor for Consumer’s Digest Magazine launching his first feature The Truth about Hair Loss Treatments in the May/June 2005 issue.

Much of this site’s web content comes from the ground breaking International best seller entitled “The Bald Truth: The First Complete Guide to Preventing and Treating Hair Loss.” (Simon & Schuster Inc.) which has become the most widely read consumer hair loss guide of all time. Published in four languages and sold in every English speaking country in the world, The Bald Truth has an abundance of information about hair transplantation and medical as well as non-medical hair loss solutions. Kobren’s second book, “The Truth About Women’s Hair Loss” is also a highly informative text.
