Consultation for Patterned Hair Loss (Androgenetic Alopecia)
The doctor will perform a diagnostic evaluation of your hair loss and will recommend medical therapy and/or surgical hair restoration. The evaluation will include an assessment of density and miniaturization using video densitometry, an explanation of your Norwood Class (in men) or Ludwig Class (in women) and the various therapeutic options available to you. When appropriate, lab tests and/or biopsies will be performed.
The fee for this physician evaluation is $175. If a biopsy or other testing is needed, there will be an additional cost. Payment is expected at the time of your visit. If lab tests are performed, you will receive a separate bill from the lab. We do not accept medical insurance; however, our staff will provide you with a form that you can submit to your insurance carrier.
Consultation for Diffuse Hair Loss
The doctor performs diagnostic evaluations for patients with diffuse hair loss (generalized thinning), a condition most often seen in women. This comprehensive diagnostic evaluation includes a detailed history, video densitometry for hair miniaturization, microscopic hair analysis, telogen/anagen ratios, and lab tests and/or biopsies when appropriate.
Payment is expected at the time of your visit. You will receive a separate bill for lab tests that will be sent to you directly from the lab. We do not accept medical insurance; however, our staff will provide you with a form that you can submit to your insurance carrier. The cost for this evaluation with Dr. Schweiger is $325 and with Dr. Bernstein is $550. If a biopsy or other laboratory tests are needed, there will be an additional charge.
The doctor performs evaluations for patients regarding thinning eyebrows or eyelashes. The evaluation includes an assessment and evaluation of candidacy for surgical eyebrow restoration (including assessment of the stability of the donor area), as well as non-surgical treatments such as Latisse (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution). The price for this eyelash/eyebrow transplant consultation is $175.

Hair Transplant Costs
The hair transplant cost for a procedure in our New York City hair restoration center varies, depending on the number and type of follicular unit grafts that are transplanted in your procedure. The following section includes current price information for a hair transplant procedure.
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)
The cost of a procedure using Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation using strip harvesting is $6 per graft. There is a $2,500 minimum fee per session.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) & Robotic FUE
The cost of a hair transplant procedure using Follicular Unit Extraction is $12 per graft. Note: there is a $3,000 minimum fee per session for manual FUE and $5,000 minimum fee per session for Robotic FUE.
Eyebrow Transplant Cost
The cost for eyebrow restoration is $5,500. If additional sessions are required, the fee for subsequent sessions will be reduced depending upon the extent of the eyebrow hair transplant procedure.
Graft Excision and Repair
The cost for a repair procedure is $85 per excised graft. There are no additional hair transplantation costs for implanting the hair harvested from these excised grafts.
Other Information
Deposit
A 30% deposit is required to schedule a hair transplant or corrective procedure. The deposit is applied to the price of the session. This deposit is refundable up to three weeks (21 days) prior to your procedure.
