When applying retin-a...how much (amount) should you apply to the scalp ? And when you apply it, should it be on the whole scalp ? Thanks!

Dr. Bernstein: Apply a very small amount to the areas of thinning. Never use Retin-A more than once a day, as you will increase its irritant effects without increasing the benefit.

I used Minoxidil and I got my hair back it works great but takes 6 months or more.

Dr. Bernstein: Thanks for the feedback. Yes, when using both minoxidil and finasteride (Propecia), the beneficial effects take 6-12 months, so it is important to be patient and continue taking the medications regularly.
