i am 24 year of age. required hair transplant in crown area. can one continue taking regaine 5% or propecia after the surgery to maintain other hairs. it is said both medicines makes hair thicker. would they make the transplanted hair thicker as well?

Dr. Bernstein: These medications only thicken hair that is being affected by genetic hair loss (i.e., the thinning hair). A hair transplant uses permanent hair obtained from the back and sides of the scalp that is unaffected by this genetic process and thus not affected by the medication.
