| Dear Dr. Bernstein,
I’m sure you don’t remember me. I had an appointment with you a year ago December. I was suffering from hair loss which I had just discovered was probably from the statins I was taking to lower my cholesterol. You spend 15 or more minutes with me gently explaining why you couldn’t do a transplant on me at that time and telling me to come back in a year and a half after some of the hair grew back. In June, it will be a year and a half since I met with you and since I stopped taking the statins. My hair is almost completely grown back; no one but me (and my hair dresser) can tell there are still a few minor thin areas which are filling in nicely. I am controlling my cholesterol through diet and exercise. I am writing to thank you so very much for your kindness and the time you spent with me. I have recommended you to my hairdresser and 3 doctors who patronizingly told me the hair loss was “due to the aging process”. They all thanked me and promised never to dismiss a similar complaint again without investigating a bit. Thank you so much for your caring and compassion. Although you couldn’t help me at the time, I left your office with hope and feeling better than I had in a long time. Cordially, S. M. | |||

| Hi Dr. Bernstein, Sorry I haven’t contacted you earlier it has been 11 months since my hair transplant. Everything is going great I have enclosed some pictures I will send more in the next week . My results look great , I never told anyone , I was a little nervous people would be able to tell, especially considering two weeks after the procedure my wife and I had twins and I had to be at the hospital with no hat on for the first time – no one ever knew . I don’t no if you remember I also had singles after the procedure . I would like to thank you and your staff for everything you did for me and for going out of your way to make my wife as comfortable as possible during my hair restoration procedure. No doctor has every done as much as you have for me . Especially after the procedure, you answered every email, made numerous phone calls to see how I was doing, prescribed an antibiotic for my shingles. | |||

| Hello Dr. B, It has only been 17 short days since my hair transplant repair procedure and I just wanted you to know that thus far I am very pleased with my decision and the work of your group. My scalp is healing rapidly and growth is returning after the graft excision. The burden of the horrible grafts and the reasons that brought me down that road of ”bad” hair transplants has been lifted. I feel like I have a new lease on life!!! When I return to New York later in the year I will setup an appointment to consider additional work. Peace be with you! Sincerely, R. N. |

| Dear Dr. Bernstein: I continue to be exceptionally pleased with the results of your fine work. It was very disturbing to me to watch my appearance change so drastically when I started losing my hair in my thirties. Wearing a hair piece for several years did return my appearance to what I thought it should be but was a constant source of anxiety and required time and money consuming maintenance to have it continue to look its best. And even then, I knew that people could tell that I was “wearing” hair and not growing it. Choosing surgery was easy, but choosing a hair restoration surgeon was not. I’m glad that I did my homework and I’m more than glad that I chose a very professional and detailed oriented person such as yourself to perform my hair transplants. Both procedures went smoothly and your staff was exceptional in their support and kindness. I just celebrated my 50th birthday last month and certainly have other age related anxieties but hair loss is not one of them. My hair looks great, natural and even though more of it is gray, all that it requires is a haircut once a month. Sincerely, O. A. |

| Dear Dr. Bernstein, I had been losing my hair from the crown for 7 or 8 years when it started to fall out from the top and front as well. I could tolerate the crown loss as I couldn't see it, but by the third year of top and front loss my fragile ego could no longer tolerate it. I set about searching the internet for information on hair transplants. During my search I discovered follicular unit transplantation and Dr. Bernstein's seminal research on the topic. I was very impressed with both. Shortly thereafter a business trip took me to New Jersey and I took advantage thereof to attend an open house at Dr. Bernstein's office. The doctor's open and honest approach to hair transplantation closed the deal for me and I arranged for my first session some 10 weeks later. When the time for my session came, my wife and I flew out to New Jersey. We preceded my hair transplant session with a day in Manhattan. It was highlighted by an afternoon at Broadway's presentation of The Lion King whose tickets we managed to get at the Times Square half-price booth. Our time in New York was worth the trip by itself. My wife dropped me off at Dr. Bernstein's New Jersey office the first thing the next morning. Upon entering the office I was provided with a uniform-of-the-day and shown to my "operating room". I most remember the large comfortable chair and the T.V. which was made available for my viewing pleasure along with a wide selection of video tapes. Once I was seated the doctor came in and drew my new hair line. He then administered the local anesthetic which facilitated the painless removal of the donor hair strip from the back of my head. Then, while the follicular units were being harvested from the donor strip, he generated the first set of implant sites - kind of recalled my days of planting pine trees. The follicular units were planted in the recipient sites which the doctor had prepared. I was left to occupy the time as I saw fit subject to the constraint of staying in the chair and keeping my head moderately still. This set of operations was repeated until around noon when my wife came in and we were given an opportunity to have a very nice lunch together in the "operating room," courtesy of Dr. Bernstein. Following lunch the routine was resumed until the some 2000 follicular units were successfully planted. This was accomplished by about 3 o’clock. We then spent an hour or so cleaning up and being given our post-operative care instructions. My wife then drove us to the hotel and following a night of modest discomfort - eased by the drugs provided upon our departure from Dr. Bernstein's office - we flew back home. I had scheduled the procedure at the beginning of a 2 week vacation. I had done such to provide sufficient time to recover from the hair transplant. This turned out to be unnecessary as there was very little negative residual affects from the procedure. However, it did provide time for the obvious physical appearance changes to recede and allowed me to cover those remaining with a comb over. Consequently, when I returned to work, none of my workmates ever mentioned noticing anything different about my appearance. During the following 6 months my transplanted hair went through its break in period and became at one with the hair which had preceded it. I was very glad that I had undertaken the hair restoration and that I had chosen Dr. Bernstein to make it happen. Unfortunately, with the passage of time my original, non-transplanted hair continued to depart my company. Several years later I returned to New Jersey and Dr. Bernstein to counteract this impact of time. The 2nd transplant was pretty much a repeat of the 1st except for being a bit shorter owing to the need for fewer follicular units to be transplanted. By this time I was retired from work and had no worries about encountering any workmates. But it really didn't matter as the 1st procedure provided me sufficient hair cover to venture forth bareheaded on the day following the hair transplant confident that no one could see anything different. Looking back, I am very satisfied with my decision to undergo hair transplantation and to have done it with Dr. Bernstein and his staff. Sincerely, J. Q. |

| Dr B. & Staff, I decided to have the hair transplants because I used to wear a hair system. The maintenance was hard to keep up with. It limited my activities. There is nothing like your own growing hair. I decided to do my hair restoration with you, Dr. Bernstein, because you were the most honest and realistic out of all the hair transplant surgeons I met concerning the procedure. Having a full head of hair has restored my confidence and has given me back my youth. My current girlfriend was shocked when I told her that I had hair transplants. The work that you and your staff do is undetectable. Before the first procedure I was very nervous. I did not know what to expect. Your and your staff made me feel comfortable by assuring me and allowing my friend who is a therapist to come in and relax me. I did not feel any discomfort throughout the hair transplant. There is discomfort after the procedure however the valium and the other medicines prescribed get you through it. I felt that this was well worth the experience because you cannot put a price on your confidence and your self-esteem. Best wishes, F. F. |

| Dear Dr. Bernstein, I decided on having a hair transplant procedure because there is nothing better than having and maintaining your own growing hair, so having surgery was a no brainer for me. My personal experience with hair restoration surgery is that there is very little discomfort despite my initial concern. I am an extremely impatient and anxious person so you would think that waiting for my hair to grow in would have been sheer torture. The time between my surgery and when I began to see my new hair passed so quickly that I barely remember ever waiting for something to happen. Before I knew it, my hair had grown in. There is nothing like having that confidence that only a full head of hair can give you. A full head of hair is symbolic of youthfulness and virility as well as healthfulness and well-being. Although I have never had self-esteem issues, any boost to one’s self confidence is a positive. I would definitely have further transplants if Dr Bernstein felt it was warranted. Sincerely, A. I. |

| Dear Dr. Bernstein, Ever since I was diagnosed in 1987 with hereditary hair loss and advised that I was a candidate for hair transplantation, I knew that "someday" I would undergo the procedure. Over the years, my hair loss became noticeable (and not just to me, as it probably was in 1987) and in 2001 I visited your website, and then your office for a free consultation. Your friendly and supportive staff, and your own knowledge, kindness and sense of humor, along with your confirmation that I was indeed a candidate for a hair restoration procedure, finally gave me the courage to have the surgery. Well, the most stressful part of the day of surgery was my worry that the taxi would not show up to take me from Manhattan to Fort Lee where I planned to have the hair restoration procedure! Once I arrived, your wonderful staff put me at ease and the only pain I experienced all day was a slight pinprick sensation when the local anesthetic was given to me. The pleasant haze I was in during the procedure, along with the conversation and banter I enjoyed with you and your staff, made the whole experience almost enjoyable! I went home and relaxed for a few days in pleasant anticipation of the good results I knew would follow. For several months I made myself forget about constantly running to the mirror, and about 10 months later I noticed a definite improvement in the fullness of my hair in the front. After about 18 months, I was very happy with the results and felt that I had a "normal" head of hair for the first time in years. In 2005 I had a second procedure and now feel that I am almost in that fortunate group of "thick-haired" people. I would urge any woman who is a candidate for a hair transplant to have no qualms or hesitation about having the surgery at Bernstein Medical. There is no "down side" to it--just a day or two out of your life and wonderful results within the year. Now I never have to worry about having the sun shine on my head; I am able to style my hair any way I want to – the main objective is no longer to make sure it's all combed back over my scalp in the hope of disguising my condition. Honestly, sometimes I have to remind myself that I once had this problem. Having my hair transplant in your office was one of the biggest favors I ever did for myself. Sincerely, L. K. |

| Dear Dr. Bernstein, I had the hair restoration with Dr. Bernstein when I was 57, having worn a hairpiece from the age of 26 (to cover a bad hair transplant when I was younger). Doing it the right way was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. To have spent all those years concerned about the wind, rain and the possibility of someone embarrassing me – which I must admit did happen on more than one occasion – now became a thing of the past. I am now able to play with my grandchildren, go swimming with them and have no fears of any embarrassment. The strange thing was the first day I walked into the golf club, having removed the wig, nobody made any mention of it at all, it does seem that other than immediate family, no-one takes too much notice of you." Best, S. B. |
