We can provide you with a list of local area hotels as well as directions to our office. This list is non-solicited and the hotel/mode of transportation is at your discretion and preference.

SCHEDULING A HAIR TRANSPLANT PROCEDURE FOR PATIENTS FROM FLORIDA

If you have had a photo consultation with Dr Bernstein, and surgical hair restoration has been recommended, you will not need to travel from Florida to New York prior to your procedure, but we would ask that you come to NY for an in-person consultation the day before your hair transplant.

To schedule a surgery, after you have had a photo consultation, please call 212-826-2400 or e-mail us at contact@bernsteinmedical.com.  The availability of surgical dates is determined, in part, by the size and type of your procedure.

In general, procedures are booked four to six weeks in advance, but our staff will do their best to accommodate your schedule and travel plans. Again, patients who schedule hair restoration procedures or corrective work after having a photo consultation may make an appointment to see Dr. Bernstein for an in-person consultation at least one day prior to the scheduled date of your procedure.  This will allow for a more precise assessment of the number of grafts for transplantation or to determine the extent of the repair work necessary.

Laboratory tests are required and must be faxed to our office at least 2 weeks prior to your procedure date.  These tests can be run at your local doctor’s office or a nearby laboratory.  We will provide you with a lab prescription for your convenience.  The results can be faxed to our office at 212-826-6200.

AFTER YOUR HAIR TRANSPLANT PROCEDURE

While you will be physically able to travel back to Florida the day after your procedure, we do not recommend it.  The day after your procedure you will be asked to wash your hair 4 times, and this is more easily accomplished if you are not traveling.  By the second day after your procedure you will only need to shower twice a day, so traveling is much easier.  See post-op instructions.

FOLLOW-UP AFTER YOUR HAIR RESTORATION PROCEDURE

A member of our medical staff will call you the day after your hair restoration procedure and you are encouraged to contact us if you have any post-operative questions.  For those from Florida or other areas outside of Manhattan, we would like to see you again in a year.  This is after the hair transplant has completely grown in.
