Eric S. Schweiger, M.D., F.A.A.D.

Dr. Schweiger is Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York where he teaches cosmetic dermatology and dermatologic surgery. He is an associate at the Bernstein Medical – Center for Hair Restoration. Dr. Schweiger, a Board Certified dermatologist, has expertise in the specific challenges related to the diagnosis and treatment of hair loss in women.

He is co-author of Hair Loss & Replacement for Dummies, a book which examines hair loss in men and women geared for the lay person. His specific contributions in Hair Loss for Dummies are the chapters which discuss the unique problems of women’s hair loss, diagnosis and treatment options.

Hair Loss for DummiesDr. Schweiger has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals on topics including cutaneous surgery, antibiotics application, injection of dermalfillers and laser surgery. He has served as the primary investigator in clinical research studies involving lasers and light based treatments. Dr. Schweiger and Dr. Bernstein and currently collaborating on a study that focuses on women with genetic hair loss.

Dr. Schweiger received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his doctor of medicine from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He completed his internship in internal medicine at NYU Medical Center and his dermatology residency at the University of Kansas, where he served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Schweiger is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
