Dr. Schweiger is Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, where he teaches cosmetic dermatology and dermatologic surgery. Dr. Schweiger, a Board Certified dermatologist, specializes in surgical hair restoration.
He is co-author of Hair Loss & Replacement for Dummies, a book geared towards the lay person suffering from hair loss. In this text, Dr. Schweiger focuses on the issues unique to the diagnosis and treatment of hair loss in women.
Dr. Schweiger has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals on topics including cutaneous surgery, antibiotics application, injection of dermal fillers and laser surgery. He has served as the primary investigator in clinical research studies involving lasers and light based treatments.
Dr. Schweiger has appeared on Good Morning America Health, FOX News and ABC Eyewitness News in New York and has been interviewed by numerous magazines including Glamour Magazine, Cosmopolitan, InStyle, US Weekly, Women’s Health, Ladies Home Journal, Marie Claire, Women’s Day, and The Wall Street Journal.
Dr. Schweiger received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his doctor of medicine from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He completed his internship in internal medicine at NYU Medical Center and his dermatology residency at the University of Kansas, where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Schweiger is a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons, the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
